For your convenience we have collected some of the most frequently asked questions about Rawi Warin Resort & Spa.
1. How do I pay for my booking?
For our payment options, we accept credit cards (i.e. Master Card, VISA, AMEX and Union Pay) and payment by bank transfer; payment should be in Thai Baht currency and should be submitted before your arrival. Please be advised that when paying by bank transfer, you will require to absorb the bank transfer fee.
Kindly note that when paying by credit card the resort will only accept the credit card which is under the guest’s holder name with signed credit card authorization form. In case your booking will be paid by a third party’s credit card, the card holder is required to sign the credit card authorization form and send back together with his/her passport. The resort reserves the right to reject any payment and booking in case of failure to send the relevant documents.
2. What credit cards do you accept? Rawi Warin will accept credit cards of Master Card, Visa, American Expressand Union Pay.
3. Do you charge for cancellations?
Rawi Warin Resort & Spa has a cancellation policy which we advise you to please read the cancellation policy before making a reservation.
4. What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in time is 14:00 hrs. and check-out time is 12:00 hrs. (noon). For early arrival we will do our best to have a room ready for you however, we cannot guarantee early check-in or late check-out which is subject to our occupancy and standard check-in/out times. To guarantee that you will have a room ready prior to your arrival, we would advise you to make your reservation at least a day in advance. We also have special rates for early check-in or late check-out.
5. How to get to Rawi Warin Resort &Spa?
Rawi Warin Resort & Spa is located in Klongtoab, Koh Lanta. You can reach us by boat from the mainland to Baan HuaHin Pier, Koh Lanta or by our resort’s transfer vehicles. In case of arriving by a flight at Krabi, Phuket or Trang airport, we can arrange the transfer at your earliest convenience. Estimated time is 2 hours from Krabi or Trang airport and 4 hours from Phuket airport. If you need to book the hotel transportation please contact our reservation team: firstname.lastname@example.org
6. What room type is suitable for a family?
Deluxe and Pond Rooms are recommended for families as both room types offer 2 queen size beds which are suitable for young children to share with you comfortably. Also, we do have extra beds available upon request for both Deluxe and Pond Room types and also connecting rooms in Deluxe room category which is suitable for a family or group.
7. Are medical facilities available at the hotel?
Rawi Warin Resort & Spa provides a First Aid Kit for minor incidents. For more serious cases, we would assist you to contact a local clinic or Hospital nearby and which has English speaking staffs.
8. What room type offer sea view?
Rawi Warin is situated in a well-maintained nature which is surrounded by abundant big trees and tropical flowers. The trees are grown naturally while we maintain and trim yearly to control the natural balance. The concept of “We Go Green” will create a sustainable holiday in luxury with the natural lush vegetation of trees, flowers and green scenery which provide fresh oxygen, relax your mind body and soul. This is the reason why some of our room types offer you either garden view or sea view especially Deluxe Room, Pond Room and Villa. It is an ocean view in Sunset Pool Villas including Baan Warin Suite and Baan Rawi Suite. For any request regarding to the view, it is subject to availability upon arrival but we will try our best to serve your wishes.
9. What room type is nearest to the beach?
Our “Sunset Pool Villa” is the nearest which is located at the beach front. Another room type would be ‘Pond Room’, this would be a short walking distance to the beach.
10. We have extra person(s); what we should do?
The room rate is normally inclusive for 2 persons. In case you are traveling with an extra person, we can provide an extra bed per room with additional charge. If traveling with an extra child aged between 2-12 year old who he/she is able to share or use the existing bed, you would only require to pay for a child’s breakfast.
11. What’s the weather like at Rawi Warin Resort & Spa?
Rawi Warin Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta is located in a tropical climate zone, only a few degrees above the equator. There are two seasons here: November to April is mostly sunny while May to October can be wet with some clear days. These weather seasons roughly correspond with the tourist high season from November to April and low season from May to October. Typically, average summer temperature from March – October ranges from 28C - 36C and goes down a pleasant 25C – 28C in the winter from Nov – Feb. Normally, the temperature drops about 5-10C during the night time while January and February are usually the driest months. March and April are the hottest and can get up to 37C while some rainfall occurs in May to July. The monsoon winds that control Lanta's weather do not switch direction on time every year so there can be rain or sunny for some weeks during the 'rainy' season. Humidity levels are mostly high throughout the year, from 75% to 100%.
12. Why does the cost of meals and beverages seem to be a bit higher at Rawi Warin Resort & Spa than in other resort areas in Thailand?
There is a higher cost associated with being in a location that is more remote and consequently more peaceful than the crowded beaches such as Phuket, Pattaya or Samui. Providing our guests with the highest quality of fresh foods and other consumables would require us to focus on the best quality products which would also comply with our quality standards. There is not a great variety available locally and certainly not when catering for our valued guests of a 5 star resort where standard affects the prices on every aspect from transportation, delivery, quality and services.
13. Can the restaurants cater to people with special dietary requirement?
Our Chefs can often substitute or alter the recipe in the dishes to accommodate the needs of special guests who have food allergies to specific ingredients such as gluten, dairy products or nuts. However we politely ask that anyone with special requirements kindly let us inform at the time of booking in order to be able to communicate with the team members. We will do our best to ensure that your dining experience with us will be an enjoyable one and that all parties are aware of which foods are to be avoided.
14. What is this all about The “Green/Summer/Low” season?
Generally there is a shorter and quieter period between May and October, which is known as the Green season. In Green season many shops and restaurants close for restoration or to take their own vacations. Nowadays many people are selecting to visit us at this time, especially for the persons who wish to avoid the intense heat or who like more peaceful and leisurely holiday without having to battle crowd of fellow tourists.
Moreover, as a result of changing global weather patterns, the Green season now means fewer rains. However, the prediction of weather patterns is not an exact cycle so we cannot ensure you that it will be the same as last year. If you do select to visit us during the “Green season, you can enjoy the indoor activities if it rains and the outdoor activities when conditions allow. Indoor activities include experiencing our spa, joining a yoga class, working-out at the fitness center, playing billiard and football table game etc. Outdoor activities include cycling, playing tennis, swimming in the pool, touring the island or visiting Lanta Old Town etc.
15. What attractions are near to our resort or in Koh Lanta?
There are many tourist attractions for you to enjoy such as taking a walk on the beach, visiting the local food markets, visiting Lanta National Park, visiting Lanta Old Town, spending your time at Lanta Animal Welfare, snorkeling or touring at Lanta nearby islands such as Rok Island or Phi Phi Island etc.
16. Are there any souvenir or craft shops on Koh Lanta?
There is a souvenir shop on our property called the Bobo Shop and at the market in the main village of Baan Saladan at the northern part of Koh Lanta. Also, in the night time there is Lanta Night Bazar where you can enjoy shopping. Resort taxi/limousine can take you there.
17. When is a good time to visit Koh Lanta?
High season at Koh Lanta traditionally runs from November to April however in the last five years Koh Lanta has remained open for business all year round. For people who want to escape the crowds and don’t mind the occasional downpour, there is peace and quiet aplenty. The optimum time for a beach holiday starts in December until January, when fresher weather, maximum sunshine and minimum rainfall combine to create the best climate for a beach holiday.
18. Do you have a private beach front?
Yes, we do have a private beach front where you can enjoy sunbathing or walking along the beach.
19. Are there natural and animals at Rawi Warin Resort & Spa?
The land where Rawi Warin Resort & Spa is built still remains the same as it was before. There are fresh water ponds and small hills in the area where accommodations and facilities are located. We have kept and maintained this natural eco-system in the resort you may have a chance to encounter water monitor lizards, geckos, colorful birds, fish in the lotus ponds, monkeys on the trees. Or just you simply wish to stroll around the natural scenery.
20. Can I rent a motorcycle at the resort?
Unfortunately, we do not offer motorcycle for rent at the resort due to security and safety reasons. However, there are some motorcycle rental shops nearby the resort. We strongly recommend that you avoid riding the motorcycles as for the road conditions and skills needed to balance and ride. We would recommend you to experience our taxi/limousine with efficient drivers in order to avoid any accidents and enjoy the island scenery.
